Big 6 Year Old!

My little girl is getting so big!

Six Christmasses ago, there was a huge snow storm and I was induced because I had pre-eclampsyea (sp??). She came out so little and dropped down to 5lbs 11oz before she started gaining. I was completely wiped after all the drugs they pumped into me...but now look at her. She's perfect! Right?? :) ***Snicker**

Ali or BUST!

Okay, well, it was a bust. So sad. We tried so hard to make it to see Ali. This is pretty much all we saw. Four hours of it, for what should have taken one hour before we gave up for the night. We tried again the next morning, Shannon and Julie were up at the crack of dawn checking the road conditions...making calls, it was impossible and far too dangerous. So we decided to make the most of it, head to a LSS, eat lunch, and have our own little crop at Shannon's. It all turned out really fun, we even had a great dinner at a new restaurant, and I got lots of pages done. :) Most importantly...we are all warm and safe with our families tonight!

We are still sad we missed Ali...but maybe she will come to Pea town again....someday?? Maybe!

Somebody stop me!

I couldn't stop adding stuff last night! You might need a barf bag just to look at this! I wanted to do one of these cookie sheet advent calenders since last year when everyone was doing them. Finally got to it and it was really fun. I know the kids will love putting the magnets on everyday. Each number is on a magnet that I will store on the back and then every morning we will add one. The little tree is a copy of what Gabby made in preschool last year, she filled in little circles every day. I love that the photos are covered in diamond glaze {thanks for reminding me of that stuff Shannon!} . Hopefully it will last for many many years. (If I can stand to look at it for that long) :) Hehe.  Posted by Picasa

Commando Crop # ??

How many are we up to girls?? Another one hosted by Shannon...and we got all the kiddies together and they all had a blast. Drew was quite the host creating snack tables and personalized place mats for each of his guests. Thanks Drew! And thanks Shannon...she who has the coolest scrap room...don't we all look great with her pretty green walls behind us?

BABY FIX!

Yep, I got one thanks to Nicole! Yeah...I'll be good for another 3 months or so. :) Is he not the cutest thing you have ever seen? And such a good baby too. Quite the love bug.

So tell me everyone...there are four types of photo conversions here...tell me which on you like best...practicing my PS skills! Ignore the super bright Nicole face in the last one. :)

10 Years....

3,652 days.....87,648 minutes we have been married as of about 2:30 today. It is kind of funny because we were in California for our wedding in November and it was 80 degrees outside that day...close to how it was here yesterday! Loving this weather but sounds like tomorrow it will be snow. Crazy!

This is the little goodie I made dh for our anniversary...I know he could really care less about getting this kind of thing....so I guess, really I made it for me! We had our wonderful little getaway to Maine and Boston last month as our anniversary getaway so we are playing it low key tonight, dinner with the kids, a champagne toast with our wedding glasses and maybe we will light our unity candle....but tomorrow night, auntie Michelle is taking the kids overnight....so we will be celebrating with a great night out. 10 years...goes by so fast. I remember our wedding like it was yesterday, we both say it was the best wedding EVER!

Here's to 10 more years of wedded bliss! Posted by Picasa

Happy Halloween

Late, as usual but hey....thigs are crazy! Here is my little race car driver and the White Witch of Narnia. I was smarter this year and got photos WAY before Halloween night. I can't get the kids to pose even for a second in the chaos of the trick-or-treating and always ended up with dark, blurry, crummy pics in the past. So here are my little gems. Isn't that witch evil looking???

I Scrapped!

Don't anyone fall on the floor now...it's been a while but I finally got a LO done...how could I resist with that picture? Of course it took me about a week...just kept it on my desk and kept adding things as I could. The pics were taken at the new part of the Wilderness resort in the Dells....very fun and cool. We went a couple weeks ago when my sister and family were visiting. They have a "tan through" roof so you can work on your tan when it's snowing outside. Made for great lighting for pictures. Usually those indoor waterparks are so dark! I used Blitzen stuff because we were having snow flurries that day....and because I LOVE THIS PAPER!

Not Much New Around Here

But Nicole had her baby!! Welcome baby Carter!!!

Just getting into the swing of things with school (whoohoo) and other activities. I just got into a book club group with some women and we are starting with the book Garlic and Saphirres. Sounds very interesting and I can't wait for the fun company and conversations. Having an Indian Summer here too, been in the 80s!

Can I just say how jealous I am of my daughter's eyes? I wonder if they will always be this blue. It really doesn't seem possible...you don't see many adults with such amazing color. :)

Gavin got a haircut yesterday...it always seems to be crooked and crazy when he gets them. Doen't seem to matter where I take him. He loves getting his hair cut and sits really still, which is amazing, so I can't figure out why they always look funny. Maybe his hair is just as mischieveous as he is and flops into another place after the cut....I don't know!

Getaway continued.

I suppose I should say that I had so much fun with my camera on this trip. Dh was totally a good sport about helping me find the best places to shoot. He would promptly stop the car when I screamed out about how "amazing that picture would be!" And he was so patient while I took 50pictures of the sunset and 30 macro shots of a tiny little moss just so I could try to get the perfect one! What a guy! I think he was pretty happy about getting to bike on this trip even though we rode a tandem and he had to do all the hard work! :)
Ahhhh, backto reality now....

Getaway!

I know I've been MIA! Floggin! With good reason, I guess.

Okay, yeah, we've been through the back to school stuff, had a busy three weeks with my parents visiting but the highlight was...by far...our little getaway to the East coast.

With my parents visiting we had our one and only chance to escape...and escape we did! (Thanks Mom, I love you!!!!) This was our first time really getting away together, without our kids, for more than one night. We flew into Boston, rented a convertible and drove up the coast to Camden and then Bar Harbor, Maine. It was absoluutely fabulous and a much needed break from reality. We hiked, ate lobster rolls, biked in Acadia National Park, ate more lobster, enjoyed the amazing scenery, ate more lobster, did the B&B thing, more lobster rolls, sea kayaked, ate more lobster, watched the sunset, and just enjoyed a little peace without little people demanding our attention every second. Did I mention the lobster?? We had it every day, usually twice a day. We discovered lobster rolls and decided to keep getting them until we found the best one in Maine...and we did at Red's Eats in Wiscasset. DELICIOUS!

On our last full day we cruised back down to Boston with the top down, checked into our hotel and then hopped on the train to downtown and had a blast walking the entire Freedom Trail and eating some amazing Italian food in Little Italy....yes we were finally burned out on lobster...amazing, I know! We loved Boston, first time visit for both of us and we can't wait to go back someday, it is so unique. We had perfect weather, we couldn't believe our good luck with that.

In the airport on the way home I bought the book Wicked and so far I am totally hooked. It is really cool and so not what you would expect!

I am completely refreshed and actually excited to get into the school routine and be Mom again. Amazing how good it is to escape for a little while! I highly reccommend it! Posted by Picasa

Little Boy Undies

Let me preface this by saying that I had a couple glasses of really good Austrailian Chardonnay (Mount Prior 2000) with dinner and then I went downstairs to do the 10th load of laundry for today. :)

Today is the first day ever that I have had little boy undies in my wash. Cute, dark color lined undies with a little hole for his "tinkle," as Gavin calls it. This is such a good stage, my baby getting a bit bigger, finally starting to go on the potty most of the time, wanting to wear big boy undies and going through a few pairs a day....diapers slowly being phased out, a passing stage of my life...maybe again someday as Grandma. But for now, I will be seeing these little boy undies in my wash for a while....maybe five more years for the colorful, character emblazoned ones....Teletubbies, Dump trucks, Scooby Doo.....then on to the inconspicuous plain ones, just like Daddy's. Ahhhhh, it is so interesting and good to reflect on another stage of my life slowly floating by...hardly noticed except by the presence of little boy undies in the wash.
