Dandylions everywhere...

I think I have had at least 10 little yellow bouquets in the last couple of weeks. Good thing none of us has serious alergies! So happy to be planting finally. I love Spring here...everthing is so alive and beautiful. All of the new green leaves on the trees are such an amazing green color...like no other. It is striking. Hope you are having a happy Spring!

Midwest Thunderstorms

My favorite part of living in the Midwest...BY FAR! Sunday we were down at Granny's and there was a quick thunderstorm...followed by a wonderful rainbow (this is the downside to the 50mm lens...very hard to get a lot in the frame :). When that sun comes out right after a storm the lighting is AMAZING! Then Granny surprised the kids by letting them pick flowers in the yard...and they weren't dandylions! Gabby was absolutely thrilled and we went home with a beautiful bouquet of tulips and daffodils. Ahhhh, I so LOVE Spring in the Midwest!

Lifesaver

This past weekend was for sure. Nicole, Julie, Shannon and I had such a great time with no one to worry about but ourselves, and whether or not we had the right cardstock to match our patterned paper Even if we didn't...someone did and was always willing to share. We stayed at Blooming Escapes which was absolutely wonderful. I haven't been so pampered and well taken care of in quite a while! Can't wait to go back.

Hmmmmm Spring???

Well, this was the view from my front porch and back door today. I think Mother Nature has her panties in a bunch. Once again my girls weekend is being seriously tested. On my way with the Commando girls to a retreat this weekend...luckily this time the winter storm warnings will be exhausted by the time we have to leave. But geeeeeeeze...how can it be that the three big weekends we had planned this winter were the same times as the three biggest snow storms?? Crazy! But I guess things are improving...not getting worse! Keeping my fingers crossed. :)

Here's my little workspace after the online crop at Tally Scrapper a few weeks ago! Quite a disaster! The little twin bed next to my desk was just as bad. I just really need to spread out. I need to see all my stuff in order to be able to use it. :)

Easter Dress

Gabby got to wear her new dress to school today for a retreat. I can't wait until Easter to take many pictures...they are guaranteed to be beautiful with this dress! I hope so much that it is sunny! Seems like it is always so cold, wet and gray on Easter.

Only in the Midwest

does it go from this much snow to 75 degrees, playing in the sprinklers, cocktail hour on the front porch kinda weather in less then 14 days. We are having a Spring heat wave here and loving every minute of it. The kiddos have fallen asleep every night, totally exhausted after playing hard outside all day. The crocus are poking through the soil...the first welcomers of Spring and I can't wait to start planting! But we must not get too excited...for all we know it will snow for Easter!

When you have wonderful slush puddles right in your front yard! Well, it rained today and Gavin loves puddles....when he came back in he had 2 inches of water in his boots! Brrrr!

Land of the Living

Finally I am back...the ominous flu bug wiped this girl out, ugh! Can't stand being stuck in bed for so long. Next year...flu shot for me and the kids. I'll just have to toughen up and take it like a man!

Got my Tally Scrapper button FINALLY up...had to get dh to help me. The minute someone says the word HTML...my eyes go fuzzy and I start hyperventilating...I am so afraid of that stuff. I find it totally amazing that anyone can make any sense of it. So I got it...now I can't wait to hang out there! Check it out!

I am trying to get this new photo in my profile and I can't remember how I did it...it's already been a year since I started this thing...amazing. And it is almost our CKU Chicago anniversary which got me started with this altogether! It has been such a great year with so many new friends. Here's to another!!

Yesterday she skates...

...today she is busting with a major fever. Amazing how that works isn't it? I guess it's our turn for the super fun fever bug...I actually had to put her in the cool bath tonight. Only had to do that once before when she was a baby. Sigh...the hardest part is that Gavin was busting with energy all day and was stuck in the house with his sick sister....I just hope the rest of us avoid it. *knocking on wood*

Naptime

I can't believe I got a 2 pager done in one afternoon..although I planned it a while ago iin my Creative Companion planner...love that thing! This is about one of those mom issues that was soooo hard for me and I am quite happy I don't have to do it anymore. I would get so anxious at naptime...with both my kids. They weren't on any kind of schedule and it was almost always a big struggle to get them to nap. I know now that I probably didn't "tire" them out enough in the mornings, I was generally half asleep until at least 10am... and I was so desperate to get them to nap so I could relax. If I could just get them to sleep, they would always sleep 3 hours. I am sure they picked up on my anxiety with their mom radar which didn't help. They fought me on this one...and fankly, I'm still not sure who came out ahead.

These pictures are from when Gavin was really fighting a nap...he was only napping a couple times a week at this point and I was determined to keep that up as much as possible...I believe on this day though...he won.

New Haircut

Isn't it cute? I sooooo wish I could get it to look cute like this. I swear thise hair people put something magic in my hair when they style it...then it promptly wears off the second I take a brush to it. Oh well. As Fritz (my hair guy) says...EVERYday can't be a good hair day! For me it's once about every 8 weeks!
